Produced by the NFPA, the popular National Electrical Code® 2005 Handbook contains the complete text of the 2005 edition of the NEC® supplemented by helpful facts and figures, full-color illustrations, real-world examples and expert commentary. An essential reference for students and professionals, this Handbook is the equivalent of an annotated edition of the 2005 NEC® that offers insights into new and more difficult articles in order to guide users to success in interpreting and applying current Code requirements to all types of electrical installations. A valuable information resource for anyone involved in electrical design, installation and inspection, the NEC® 2005 Handbook is updated every three years and provides 100% of the information needed to "meet Code" and avoid costly errors. Thomson Delmar Learning is pleased to make this one-of-a-kind reference - containing the most widely accepted and most frequently used criteria for electrical installations in the U.S. - available directly from us for our customers who work in and around the electrical trades. Customer Rating: Summary: Perfect for the price Comment: This was needed asap, but was very expensive at book stores.
A co-worker told me to check amazon.com for books. I wasnt sure if I should risk buying it on-line, but it was cheap so I did. To my surprise the description matched the book perfectly. I and my husband (for whom the book was for) were very pleased.
Customer Rating: Summary: 2005 Electrical Code Book Comment: I have been getting code books since 1965, it seems that they have tripled in size, I'm glad the price hasn't. Good value
Customer Rating: Summary: NEC 2005 Handbook of limited value Comment: I have had my master electrician license for 21 years but needed to study for a master license in another state. I have been an electrical contractor and state electrical inspector. I studied for about 100 hours using the regular codebook and I used this "handbook" as a reference. I was very disappointed in that almost every single time I had a question or something was unclear there was absolutely no reference to the "complex" issue. It seemed like the obvious was explained in "other words" but the hard stuff was ignored. I realize "hard stuff" is subjective and my review acknowledges that. In this handbook the simplistic issues are reiterated or a picture is shown which is probably great for beginners or apprentices. I'm not sure why there is almost no clarification or examples regarding the more complicated code issues and almost no useful load, feeder or building service calculations. I would recommend not relying on this book if you want to pass a master test.
Customer Rating: Summary: Electric Code Book Comment: This book is required in order to obtain an electrical contractor's license in the state of Georgia.
Customer Rating: Summary: Very Good Reference Book for Electricians Comment: This book is fine, it was a little bit expensive though.
