Editorial Reviews:

It's a surge protector that thinks it's an outlet. The 1080-joule rating provides a high level of surge protection, while the dual outlet design gives back the space it takes up. Includes 2 AC outlets for AC surge protection and 1 pair of coaxial connections for cable TV, satellite TV and HDTV.

Summary: Big Al
Comment: Came on time, did what I needed it to do. Mounted behind a 52" Philips LCD TV with plenty of clearence space. I used the 1" spacers provided by my PDR mount. In use for about 2 weeks no complaints. $10. less than the nearest competitors price. THANKS AMAZON.

Summary: Great Little Surge Protector
Comment: I have been using these for custom A/V installs for the last 4 years. I like these because of their slim profile and unobtrusive design. They come with equipment protection guarantee and have so far been dependable. I will definitely continue to use them. The price is right too!

Summary: surge protector
Comment: I like the plug-in style, no power-strip on the floor to get in the way of the vacuum cleaner or mop. Plus, there is an extra outlet and a connection for cable. Practical. compact, out of the way.

Summary: Small, useful, great looks!
Comment: No installation problems with this surge protector. Just plugged it in and the led indicator shows it's working. Luckily, I haven't had the chance to test it yet. Consider that you'll need at least 10 cm clearance if you want to place a furniture in front of it. Great looks adapted just precisely to my home entertainment room.

Summary: One Issue - and it may be deal breaker for some
Comment: I bought this surge protector for my 52-inch LCD that was being mounted to the wall. I installed a new receptacle outlet behind the TV in an area of the TV that would make it easy to plug in (i.e., in an area of the TV with an indentation). I used a standard flat wall mount with the deepest brackets available in the kit (again to make plugging the TV in as easy as possible). My 52-in Sony LCD comes with a standard 3-prong plug (not a flat plug) such that when the TV was plugged in the surge protector the TV was unable to lay vertical b/c the TV butted against the plug/surge protector. I am not sure that any surge protector would solve this problem since they all would have to stick out some distance from the wall. One solution would be to purchase a mount that would provide sufficient rear clearance, but that would make TV stick off of the wall even further reducing the aesthetics of the installation. Just something to consider during your planning stages.

I used the surge for my components and I am sure it works fine - but plan accordingly if you use this as a surge protector behind a wall mounted panel.
